Los Angeles-based designer Peter Dunham was born in England and spent his formative years in England, Paris and Spain. He apprenticed with David Hicks while studying International Business Administration in Paris. In 1998,Dunham moved to Los Angeles and began designing homes for high profile clients in the entertainment industry. In 2003, Peter launched a line of textiles that is hand-printed in Los Angeles. “I began creating original designs for my clients because I have always been interested in pattern and color,” he says. “Southern California encompasses a wide variety of architectural styles. I’m always looking for designs that work in different settings and that appeal to both men and women.” Inspired by vintage textiles and his collection of ethnic documents, Peter is continually creating designs that are an updated approach to traditional prints, which are rich in Indian, Turkish and Persian imagery. His collection combines many styles inspired by his travels with a flair of 1960’s Mediterranean, which he describes as “the magic bus goes to Saint Tropez.” Peter Dunham Textiles has been featured in numerous publications, including World of Interiors, H&G (British and American), Elle Décor, House Beautiful, O Home, New York Times, Veranda, Interior Design, W, Elements of Design and Los Angeles Times.
