Carolina Irving Textiles
Much like her eponymous fabric line, Carolina Irving's journey toward creating it has been quite colorful indeed. She grew up in Paris of Venezuelan parents; is an art historian; was an editor at Elle Décor, House & Garden, and Vogue Living; has a successful line of embroidered blouses (co-designed with Lisa Fine); and is a leading taste-maker, a favorite of bloggers whose homes have been published in World of Interiors, Vogue, and House & Garden, among others.
For her collection, Irving has ransacked sources in France, England, Sweden and India for her linen prints and toiles. She also travelled extensively in Turkey, Greece and other Middle Eastern countries looking for riotous colors and patterns that are reinterpreted in her special way. Her premier collection features old-fashioned colors that look vegetable-dyed and hand-printed while having great depth. The collection includes several multi-colored designs, many others printed in single colors both in large and small mixable patterns that all work together.
