LIsa Fine Textiles

Lisa Fine comes straight from the pages of a Truman Capote novel: part Holly Golightly, part Indian Princess. Lisa spent many years in New York working in publishing before splitting her time between New York and Paris creating the fashion line Irving and Fine. From Tashkent to Timbuktu, Fine has been to countless extraordinary, out-of-the-way places including months spent traveling all around India for her fashion work.

As for her strong yet feminine line of fabrics, Lisa Fine credits her love for the exotic and romantic as her greatest inspirations. Miniature paintings of Persian gardens, Ottoman tents and Indian palamporees (trees of life) are her obsession, as their depiction of animals and flowers are the most fanciful and extraordinary. Her cleverly and beautifully coordinated line features great, bold colors drawn from rich imagery found in such farflung locales as the Calico Museum in Ahmedabad or on the walls of the Samode Palace near Jaipur.
